The How

PART 2 | How to apply “The Spellbinding Potion” to your Instagram Stories

CHAPTER 1

Truth is, this whole theory is nothing without you

I believe we all have a natural born storyteller inside of us waiting to be awoken, we just need *that* right outlet or idea to make sense to us to ‘spark’ it.

So you my dear Kindred Spirit, you the Star of your own story, the Leading Lady of your Instagram page *winks*; definitely can create Insta-Stories that Attract & Enchant your people using “The Spellbinding Potion”.

The Spellbinding Potion

is formed by the following elements; remember?

Now the question is:

How to apply “The Spellbinding Potion” to your Instagram Stories, right? read on to find out *smiles*

So all you need is...?

{Love! *laughs* just kidding!}

Bellow I’ve come up with a visual sample to help you understand so you can recreate the same idea with any type of content

1. A Star Element

Your something shiny...

Unexpected, fun to watch, your sweet-sweet ‘honey’ for hungry eyes. And you’ve got that: The Moving Backgrounds for your Instagram Stories. The ones you got on your #1 tiny e-parcel *wink-wink*Check!

2. A Supporting Flair Element

Your something to help the Star Element shine...

They are subtle but got their own flair. You’ve got that too: The Static Backgrounds you got on your #2 tiny e-parcel *giggles*Check!

3. And what I like to call “Magic Dust” Element

Last but not least, this is the magic...

Your unique take or view, the narrative of your own story. And you’ve got that too: your ideas for your Instagram Stories! *smiles showing teeth*Check!

So you've got an idea for an Instagram Story

{and if not, no worries}

You can use the sample I have for you below and make it yours! That’s why I created this whole series of “Parcels” {freebies}, with one theme in mind: “Get To Know Your People”.

You can go ahead and use all the elements on the Story down bellow to get you started, as I mentioned before getting to know our people is crucial for anyone building an audience. A few things to keep in mind when creating your own: Remember how I said to think of “The Spellbinding Potion” as a book waiting to be opened?

Bellow! *giggles*

If you think of your Instagram Stories…

As a book waiting to be opened…

Waiting to be discovered… what does it *need* to have in order for you to want to grab it?

What would you expect as the reader to see once you open it; a captivating first line perhaps, colors that resonate with you, something unexpected?

Think about what pulls you in, what you like, and try to apply that to your next set of Stories.

For me...

It has to have one or a combination of:

I remember my first set of Insta-Stories that got a hype of replies and comments started with a question…

I knew what I was aiming for when I created it but never thought I’d have the responses I had, I was so happy! It was the silliest thing I tell you, but still as you might know getting your people through a whole set of stories without them skipping is like a serious achievement *laughs*

The first slide read: “how long is forever?”

Perhaps you know where this is going now, I truly have a penchant for Alice in Wonderland so by now you’ve probably have associated that quote with my work but back then, when Alice wasn’t the trend that she is now, getting that question in the first slide sparked curiosity.

“Many moons ago…” and I’m like: what part of the story is this, is it the middle, the end, clearly it’s not the beginning; yup, it can’t be, or is it? Grrr! I must find out!—do I need to say anything more? *laughs*

Number three always gets me, the main character finds herself in a pickle and I immediately want to know how she got there! *covers eyes*

CHAPTER 2

And now what?

You’ve told me all of this Susan but still I can’t quite *see it*—I can already predict that’s what you are thinking, yikes!

Worry not *lifts hand*, here {as in next of bellow this text} there is a video of the Story sample I mentioned before! watch it and feel free to COPY EVERYTHING.

What can you expect from the video? a 20 sec-muted overview of the –final– Instagram Story created on Unfold App.

You can absolutely copy the content {or get an idea of what “The Spellbinding Potion” looks like in action} and recreate it in your fav App or directly on Instagram.

Not familiar with Unfold App? check the video No.2, “How To Use Unfold App”.

FINAL Story Sample Overview

When revealing your answer at the end… do it with text or take this opportunity to practice recording a mini video of yourself talking to the camera, saying something like “I can’t wait to read your answers, I’ll reveal the most popular tomorrow”; or something like that, to spark curiosity on your next Story—keep that engagement growing!

Video No.2

How To Use Unfold App

to create a Spellbinding Instagram Story

Heads up: I made the video just before Unfold and other Apps released updates, now Canva, Story Art and Storywell also let you add video in case you’d like to give them a try. They are still kind of glitchy though, Canva is the one working better.

App Overview

Unfold App + The Moving Backgrounds are my favorite way to create sets of Instagram Stories on the go!

Why? Because I can create one set and re-use them every time I want to stay on brand by having a consistent look without looking like somebody else’s stories. Give the video a watch, I think you are going to like it too.

What can you expect from the video? A narrated overview on how to use the App. I’ll go over the tools, ways to incorporate The Moving Backgrounds, and little tricks here and there to make the best out of the App. Plus a creative way to add the icons below! *wink-wink*.
